Well, it's official I am a Burger King manager again!  Except this time I am a General Manager over seeing the operation of two massive Burger King Outlets on one of the busiest mainline train stations in north London!

 

The money isn't as good as I wanted but I guess that it has to be inline with the other people that have done the job before me!

 

Anyway, I am really tired!  I have so much to write on here, maybe I will get time over the weekend to write some more!

 

By the way, anyone in London should go and see Blue Man Group!  I saw it last weekend with Damien, Ian, Matt and Steve and it was AWESOME!!!!

Well here goes, tomorrow I have a job interview for 2 BIG Burger King Restaurants on the station at work!  Talk about a mission of an interview! I have a 3 hour job interview including 5 exams relating to the business and some Psychometric maths and english exams.  Also have to do a presentation on a SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis based on the 2 restaurants.

Sunday 26th and Monday 27th of March was spent down in Brighton with Steve.  Had a great couple of days and really enjoyed getting out of London! 

 

After a rough time trying to get out of London due to faulty trains, we eventually got to Brighton about 1pm.  We had a short stroll along the waterfront and we checked into the hotel and headed over to the pier for a few amusements and some chips on the pier! YUMMY!!!!

 

Beer O'clock shortly chimed on the rocket clocket and we headed to the local gay bar for a few drinks!  Then back to the hotel for an afternoon cat nap!!! 

 

Early evening saw us dining out and then we headed to Sunday Sundae at a club called Audio!  What a night!  I highly recommend a trip to Brighton on a Sunday night just to go to Sunday Sundae!!!  Don't be late though! The best part of the night was earlier on upstairs bopping away to some really cool funky house!

 

About 11pm we were pushed downstairs into a progressive house / trance room where we partied till about 1.30am when we decided to pay a visit to the local late night pizza bar and back to the hotel for pizza in bed!

 

After a bit of a lie in on Monday morning we had a walk around Brighton (in the rain) and then decided that we would come back to London for lunch.

 

I highly recommend La Tasca near The Strand for a very nice Spanish Tapas meal! And in true style, a good old afternoon siesta!

 

Tuesday morning sees us return to work!

Ok so I went shopping this afternoon after having visited a friends house down in Angel and found in one of the Tesco aisles a jar of Vegemite! 

 

Had it not been peak hour I think I would have screamed out in happiness!!!  I haven't had vegemite since November last year when my brother was here!!!

 

At just over £2.00 for a decent size jar it's such a bargain! 

 

Vegemite on toast! YUMMO!!!!  I can see all those British people screwing their nose up!

 

Anyway thats my little bit of excitement for the month!

Well work has finally decided that they wanted to change their payroll system that they use.  The change has bought on a new Biometrics System using emplyees fingerprints to clock in and out when starting work!

 

The system uses Broadband to communicate with head office and the main frame computer system, however, the rest of the station is still stuck on dial-up internet! 

 

Isn't this a bit backwards!  You would think that work would sort out the Broadband issue first and then implement the Biometrics system!

 

System seems to be working well though!  Lets see how it goes! Feels almost a bit Big Brother is watching-ish though!

Ok so, yet again, loads has happened since I last updated!  I need to try to do this more often!

 

On 31 January 2006, Carly and I made our way up to Stansted Airport (the land of the Chav!)  and boarded a plane to Sweden!  Gothenburg is an amazing place and coming in to land was awesome!  Snow covered the ground EVERYWHERE!!! 

 

Wasn't even 1pm in the afternoon when the plane landed and we were half drunk already (typical Dyaln and Carly style)!

 

Spent the three days that we were there looking around Gothenburg and doing some shopping!  Caught up with my old flatemate Maja!  Which was really cool.  Her place is amazing!  So nice!

 

We also had a look around the Southern Archipelago on a boat trip.  It had been suggestted that we go right down to the last island and then get off the boat and have a look around.  By the time we got to the third island there was a massive fog that had rolled in and so we couldn't see anything!  So we just stayed on the boat and turned around and went back home again!

 

I went out to a really cool cocktail bar on the last night that we were there and had a bit of a boogie!  Thought I would drink Vodka and Cranberry (the usual) so I ordered one, as in  most of Europe the Vodka was poured free hand so I ended up with about 50/50 vodka and juice!  Nice!  Then just before the barmen handed the drink to me he put a spoon in it! WHAT??? I have never had a drink with a spoon in it before!  So I thought ok, must just be the way they serve that drink, changed to a vodka coke for the next round and yet another spoon!  Looking for swizzle sticks on the bar, NONE!  Looking for straws, NONE!  Thought that was a  bit strange but kind of got used to it!

 

Then it was time to come home!  Boring old plane trip home, kind of happy to get home though.  Poor Carly was sick for the whole trip with the flu, she's such a star cause she battled on through like a trooper and walked all over Gothenburg with me! 

 

On returning home, I caught Carly's flu (second time I had it in six weeks!  Is that fair?) then I knew how much of  trooper she really was!  Cheers Carly!  Thanks for a top trip!  Looking forward to the next time we go soemwhere!  Photos coming soon!

Well after much debate I decided that I would not brave the masses and the COLD while watching the fireworks in Central London!!!  I decided to stay indoors for New Years (the tube strike also helped in this decision) so I went to Peter, Russells and the rest of that mad household's place and partied with them!  Was a top night!  Woke up the next morning and then continued the party!  Do we know how to party or what!?!

 

Then later that evening it was off to DTPM @ Fabric for a bit of fun and frivolity!  Dylan, Damien, Craig and Russell danced at DTPM till the wee hours of the morning!

 

The next day was spent recovering from a hang over to rival all hang overs!!!

 

Back to work for a few days and then the next weekend was spent partying with Rob and Kristy at home and then we decided at 7am that we would trudge through the snow in North London to the tube station and then onto a nightclub (ahem, day club) in South London called Fire in Vauxhall.  We stayed there until we were kicked out at 11 am and then onto some random's place for some drinks!!! 

 

About 5pm we decided that it was time to move on to a bar so off we trot to Old Compton's Bar (seedy as!!!) but loads of fun (we'd also drunk ourselves sober by this point) so it was home to bed at 9pm for just a few hours sleep and I had to wake up at 4.30 am for work!!!  GRRRRR

 

Later that week, Rob disappears back to the land of oz... Come back soon Rob... We miss you!!!!
